A Big Candy Is It Down

Almost always the answer is no, and the fault is somewhere between your router and the casino. Here is how to find out which in about a minute.

This panel reflects a manual check by our editors on the date shown, not a continuous automated monitor. If you are having trouble right now, the diagnostic below will tell you more than any status badge can.

Short answer

A Big Candy casino was up and responding normally at our last check on 30 August 2026. Genuine platform outages are rare and usually under an hour. Nearly every report we investigate is a VPN, a stale DNS entry or an ISP-level block.

A Big Candy site status: website, cashier and live tables responding normally

The 60-second check

Do these in order and stop at the first one that works. It tells you where the fault is, which is more useful than knowing that something is broken.

1

Turn the VPN off. Completely.

Not "switch to an Australian server" — off. This is the single most common cause and the fastest fix. Around ten seconds.

2

Try it on mobile data with wi-fi off.

Different network, different DNS, different IP. If it loads here, the casino is fine and your home connection is the problem.

3

Open it in a private window.

Rules out a stale cached page, an expired session cookie and an interfering extension in one step. Ad blockers break casino cashiers more often than anything else.

4

Change your DNS resolver.

Some Australian ISPs resolve offshore gambling domains to nowhere. Switching the device to a public resolver such as 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 fixes it immediately and permanently.

5

Still nothing? Now it might be them.

If all four fail on two different devices and two different networks, you have ruled out your end. Give it thirty minutes — outages here have historically been short.

Error codes, translated

1020 — Access denied

A Cloudflare rule, not the casino. VPN, proxy or a flagged IP. Turn the VPN off; try mobile data.

1015 — Rate limited

Too many requests too quickly, usually from hammering refresh. Wait five minutes and it lifts by itself.

521 / 522 — Origin unreachable

One of the few genuinely their-end errors. The edge is up, the server behind it is not. Wait it out.

503 — Service unavailable

Maintenance or overload. Typically scheduled overnight AEST and measured in minutes.

GEO_RESTRICTED

Your IP does not match your account country. Almost always a VPN left on by accident.

SESSION_EXPIRED

Normal after inactivity or a network change. Log in again; nothing is wrong with the account.

What happens to your bet if it drops mid-spin

Short version: you do not lose the round. Slot results are generated on the game server the instant you press spin, so the outcome exists independently of whether your browser ever renders the animation. Log back in and you will find the round completed and settled — including a win you never got to watch.

Live dealer is slightly different. A round interrupted before the deal is voided and the stake returned; a round already dealt is settled by the studio's own recording, which is why the balance sometimes moves before you have reconnected. Bonus rounds and free spins are saved at the state you left them and resume where they stopped. If a balance still looks wrong an hour later, screenshot it and take the round ID to live chat rather than replaying — the game history in your account is the authoritative record and support can read it.

Outage log

Incidents our desk recorded or confirmed with support. Cumulative — new entries are added at the top and old ones are never removed.

14 August 2026 · ~35 minutes

Live casino only. Slots and the cashier unaffected; live tables failed to load for roughly half an hour in the evening AEST. Provider-side, resolved without an announcement.

2 July 2026 · ~20 minutes

Full outage. 521 errors sitewide, early morning AEST. Back without explanation. The only complete outage we have logged this year.

28 May 2026 · ~2 hours

Cashier degraded. Card deposits failing intermittently while wallets and crypto worked normally. A processor issue rather than the casino's.

9 April 2026 · ~45 minutes

Scheduled maintenance. Announced in advance, overnight AEST, 503 throughout. The only planned window we have on record.

Frequently asked questions

Is A Big Candy down right now?

At our last desk check the site, the cashier and the live tables were all responding normally. Full outages are rare and short; the overwhelming majority of "site is down" reports turn out to be a DNS cache, an ISP block or a VPN, all of which are fixable in a couple of minutes from your end.

What happens to my spin if the site goes down mid-game?

Nothing is lost. Slot outcomes are decided on the game server the moment you press spin, so the result exists whether or not your browser sees it. Log back in and the round will have completed and been settled to your balance. Live dealer rounds interrupted before the deal are voided and the stake returned.

Why does A Big Candy say I cannot access it from my location?

Usually a VPN. Offshore casinos geolocate on every login, and a mismatch between your account country and the exit node you are connected through will block access and can freeze the account pending review. Turn the VPN off entirely rather than switching it to an Australian server.

What does error 1020 mean at A Big Candy?

It is a Cloudflare access rule, not a casino error. It fires on VPN and proxy traffic, on some corporate networks, and occasionally on a residential IP that has been flagged. Disable the VPN, try mobile data instead of wi-fi, and it clears in most cases.

The site loads but the games will not start — what is wrong?

That pattern almost always means the site is fine and a game provider is not. Individual studios go down independently. Try a game from a different provider: if that one loads, the problem is that studio and there is nothing to fix at your end but wait.

How can I tell if A Big Candy is down for everyone or just for me?

Load the site on mobile data with wi-fi switched off. Your phone uses a different network, a different DNS resolver and a different IP. If it loads there and not on your home connection, the fault is your network, not the casino.
