When the page first went live. It never changes, so you can see how long we have been covering something.
Updated
Moves only when we change something material — a limit, a processing time, a method added or dropped. Fixing a typo does not move it.
Checked
The last time an editor re-verified the facts, whether or not anything needed changing.
So a recent Checked date next to an older Updated date is the useful case: it means we looked again recently and the page was still right. A single "last updated" stamp that quietly moves every time the page is republished tells you nothing, which is why we do not use one.
How this site makes money
